Dien Chan or 'Vietnamese Facial Reflexology' is the youngest of the reflexologies to appear on our planet. To date, it is the most powerful of the reflexologies as this stimulation can be performed on oneself independently.
'Dien Chan' is a form of reflexology. Reflexology works on the principle that by stimulating one part of the body, another part of the body is rebalanced. As with foot reflexology, which is a mini map of the organs your body, similarly, with the face there are different facial reflexology maps that also represent different parts of your body. More precisely, when the skin (a major sense organ) is stimulated according to these facial maps, the nervous system (central, then peripheral) responds to and balances the targeted organ or area of the body.
There is a database in the brain within which all the organs of the body are coded to perform their correct function. This database is triggered by the stimulation of certain points and areas to signal a reminder that something has been modified to affect this function. And thus the correct functioning can, when possible, be restored.
It works to restore the correct flow of energy in the body. The body signals to us a problem by means of a pain or discomfort in the body. Such a symptom indicates an energetic block.
An energy block means there is a difficulty in circulation for the energy itself along the vital life force which nourishes our body. These blockages can indicate imbalances that can affect our health and well-being.
You will be provided with a simple protocol at the end of the treatment to stimulate these areas by yourself throughout the day, which can regulate and encourage the movement of energies within the body and hopefully encourage the free flow of energy within the body and restore balance. So as well as the therapist conducting a treatment on you, you can also continue to work on yourself to encourage healing.
To treat symptoms presented in the acute or chronic phases and if looking to help prevent these symptoms persisting.
Facial Reflexology can help with energy blockages within your body and restore natural balance.
A specific body system will be selected by the therapist to work on to help restore balance and each time a symptom is affected we will also be working the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual condition of the recipient with relation to the chosen organ. By working to rebalance we can positively alter the balance of our immune system. Therefore, it is also a great tool at a preventative level.
At your first facial reflexology appointment we will:
Extra time should be allowed for this initial consultation. At the beginning of each subsequent session we will check your current state of health.
You will be fully clothes and be asked to lie on a massage couch. A blanket will be offered for your comfort. You will need to remove any metals, like rings, watches, necklaces, earrings, belt etc. (these block efficient energy flow).
Once you are comfortable on the massage bed or chair, if you prefer, the therapist will gently hold you head with one hand and from this point no talking is allowed. This is to allow the Central Nervous System, and the client, to totally relax (without any other stimulus like talking). The therapist will then use the facial reflexology tool to massage the facial points appropriate to the client’s symptoms.
The treatment can last either 30 or 60 mins, as discussed at the consultation.
With any type of holistic treatment, their maybe what is called "a healing reaction", which can manifest itself as a mild headache, feeling emotional, feeling sluggish/drained, increased frequency of urination, post treatment. However, these should be viewed positively as it means the treatment has begun to help re-balance the body.
At the end of the treatment your therapist will obtain your feedback and provide you with a face map and follow up technique and instructions for you to work on massage certain points on your face for the following 21 days. This will re inforce the treatment received and will expedite any changes in energy.
A treatment session itself can last approximately 30 mins or 60 mins (other than the first consultation/treatment). In addition, we will spend a little time at the beginning of the treatment session to review your current health, well-being and requirements. At the end of the session we will discuss the findings and follow up self-treatment map.
There are also combination treatments available which offer a discount on the full price of each individual treatment. For example
